Before joining the firm, Khalil gained valuable experience as an Assistant State Attorney in the 12th Judicial Circuit in Manatee County, Florida. Following his tenure there, he continued to excel in the legal field by relocating to the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami, Florida, where he served as a prosecutor for seven years.

During his time at the State Attorney's Office in Miami, Khalil's dedication and expertise led him to the position of Felony Division Chief, a role he held for four years. In this capacity, he prosecuted complex cases, including homicide cases, supervised fellow attorneys, and handled post-conviction motions. As a highly accomplished trial attorney, Khalil boasts an impressive track record with over fifty trials to verdict, which encompass ten homicide trials, numerous firearm-related felonies, capital sexual battery cases, and attempted murder cases.
