Joe Donato

Born and raised in Miami, Joe Donato joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Shaniek Mills Maynard of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to clerking, he was an associate at a prominent trial boutique that litigated high-profile and bet-the-company cases.

Joe litigates high-stakes disputes in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration proceedings nationwide. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of complex cases, including corporate litigation, securities litigation, privacy, defamation, products liability, cross-border disputes, class actions, and multidistrict litigation. His clients have included a retired federal judge, an international celebrity, prominent Miami attorneys, Fortune 100 companies, well as individuals and smaller businesses.

Recognized for his work in complex commercial disputes, Joe was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2024) in Business Litigation and selected to The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2024) for Commercial Litigation. He also holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. 

Joe received his J.D. from the Nova Southeastern University. During law school he interned at the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office. Prior to his legal career, he served as an Emergency Medical Responder with the Miami-Dade County Fire Department, performing emergency medical rescues as part of the Ocean Rescue Division. Excellent under pressure, Joe is skilled at resolving disputes on behalf of his clients.
