JEFFREY B. KAPLAN: Elderly investors are particularly vulnerable to investment fraud. They often live on a fixed income and don’t have other money to generate additional monthly income for themselves. They are easily lured by free-lunch seminars and free-dinner seminars, where they are promised high rates of return on a monthly basis with little to no risk.
Unfortunately, the old adage often rings true. When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There really is no free lunch.
Because there are many retirement communities in South Florida where we are based, we have represented a number of elderly investors over the year. When we represent elderly clients who’ve been abused by their stock broker or a brokerage firm, we often work with our clients’ trusted estate lawyer, other family members of the client, and of course the client themselves.
We represent investors throughout the entire United States as well as in South America and Europe. At Dimond Kaplan and Rothstein, our experience allows us to properly evaluate your case, including the strengths and the weaknesses, and to advise you about the likelihood of recovery.
When investors come to us, we understand that their trust already has been abused. And we strive to build trust in our firm as we represent you in an effort to recovery your investment losses.
