Uintah Basin Healthcare Data Breach Class Action
Uintah Basin Healthcare (UBH) has stated that it identified unusual activity in its computer network around November 7, 2022. To address this, the healthcare provider took immediate action to secure its network and engaged a third-party cybersecurity team to investigate the incident. Their objective was to determine whether any personal, sensitive, or legally protected health information was accessed or removed during the data breach. It was not until approximately April 7, 2023, that UBH first confirmed that some patients’ legally protected health information may have been accessed or exfiltrated by unauthorized individuals between approximately March 2012 and November 2022. Subsequently, UBH undertook efforts to evaluate the potentially affected data and identify the individuals who might have been impacted. The data breach investigation was reportedly concluded on April 10, 2023, according to UBH’s account.
The data breach at UBH impacted an estimated 103,974 individuals.
The compromised data may include but is not necessarily limited to, the following: names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, and healthcare details such as diagnoses, conditions, lab results, medications, and procedure data.
